Louisa Wood

Chief Operating Officer, Mereside Medical

Louisa Wood is COO of Mereside Medical Group, a group of three NHS GP practices in East Cambridgeshire serving over 45,000 patients, as part of Ely Primary Care Network and East Cambridgeshire Integrated Neighbourhood together serving around 90,000 patients.
Louisa is co-Director and PPIE Lead for the NIHR Greater Cambridge & Suffolk Commercial Research Delivery Centre (Primary Care) — one of 14 nationally — focused on expanding equitable access to clinical research in community settings, particularly for rural populations underserved by research.

A scientist by training with a PhD in global conservation modelling at the science-policy interface, Louisa has built a career around improving access and inclusion at scale — spanning UN environmental policy, partnering with Google on conservation technology in developing nations, and widening access to computing education at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. She now brings that same instinct to NHS primary care and commercial research delivery.
