Douglas Young
Principal R&D Manager, Lothian Health Board
Doug has over 26 years experience in R&D management. As Principal R&D Manager he has strategic responsibility for contract negotiation, budgeting, innovation and intellectual property.
Doug graduated in Biochemistry from Heriot-Watt University in 1989 later gaining a PhD in Biochemistry in 1994 for a thesis examining glycovariants of a tumour marker. He obtained an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Management School in 1999.
Doug represents NHS Scotland on the UK Four Nations Contracting Leads Group for model agreements and the Working Group for the National Contract Value Review (NCVR) programme.
