Michael Twigg

Head of Research Development, Evaluation and Quality Improvement, NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB

Michael Twigg is a pharmacist by training and Head of Research Development, Evaluation and Quality Improvement at NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB and Honorary Professor of Pharmacy at the University of East Anglia. Michael leads the use of Research Capability Funding within the ICB, focussing on building capacity and capability to undertake research in settings outside of hospitals. He is also the lead for the Research Engagement Network for the ICB. Michael supports academics to develop their research applications for submission to the NIHR. He also works closely with commissioning colleagues to enhance the uptake of research findings into pathway design.
He currently sits on the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research Funding Panel and was a member of the NIHR Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centres funding panel. He is part of the core team for the East of England NIHR Internship programme for health and care professionals.
