Research Governance Lead, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

Charlotte Caimino is the Research Governance Lead within Research & Innovation at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). Charlotte supports oversight of all research activity at NUH, including the Trust’s sponsored portfolio, working with research teams across the full research lifecycle.

Charlotte’s role focuses on research governance oversight and regulatory compliance across the research portfolio, including adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, and clinical trials regulations. She supports inspection readiness and ongoing compliance through proportionate governance processes, providing oversight of trial feasibility and risk assessment, pharmacovigilance, study conduct, ethical standards, and regulatory reporting throughout the lifecycle of a study.

Charlotte’s work centres on strengthening research quality systems, promoting research integrity, embedding proportionate and risk-based governance processes, and supporting researchers to deliver safe, ethical, compliant, and high-quality research that benefits patients and services across NUH.
