Katherine Jeays-Ward NHS England
In her role as Research Lead within the Embedding Research team at NHS England, Katherine leads national programmes to embed research into care delivery and increase participation and diversity in research through policy and operational means. She has a strong interest in transformative change and driving up the impact of research and innovation through consideration of whole health pathways and system infrastructure, including through the involvement of all users of those pathways and systems. Current programmes that Katherine leads includes the ICS Research Engagement Network (REN) development programme, and the development of a national research metrics framework.
Katherine has broad experience within the research and innovation sectors nationally and internationally, with over a decade spent working across multiple programmes within the NIHR-funded research infrastructure. She holds a PhD in developmental genetics from the Institute of Cancer Research.
