Mikayala King UHS R&D
I am the R&D Governance, QA and Sponsorship Manager at UHS and have responsibility for the Quality assurance and sponsorship teams. My main role is to ensure that things are done properly and within the law and guidance and to ensure that any studies sponsored by UHS have adequate oversight and management.
I started working at the Trust in 2012 having moved from the old NIHR Kent and Medway Comprehensive Local Research Network. There I worked as a Research Management and Governance Officer and had responsibility for setting up studies in Primary care and secondary care as well as for the mental health and community Trusts. I was also responsible for setting up a region wide archiving service and for managing the performance measures for all of the Trusts in the area and for the CLRN as a whole.
Prior to joining the NHS I gained my PhD in Biochemistry and worked as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
